Ciao Organics Basil Tomato Sauce

This ready-to-use tomato sauce comes from the province of Piacenza (Emilia Romagna). We are seldom impressed with prepared tomato sauces, but this one was a pleasant surprise! It is a classic, tasty sauce, not overwhelming, just like you would expect to find on a simple dish of spaghetti in Italy. A common "trick" in Italian kitchens is to add finely grated carrot to tomato sauce, to give it fuller body. It also sweetens the sauce without having to add sugar.
